Rugged and ready for the demands of production.
Shooting on location is already difficult with planning, coordinating, and getting the right gear — we want the Ultra 7 to be one less thing you have to worry about. The Ultra 7 chassis was designed with shock-absorbing bumpers for accidental drops and a raised edge all around to protect the screen when placed face down. It’s also water-resistant with protection against damp situations. No, that does not mean you can submerge it in a body of water and expect to control your ALEXA, but it does mean you won’t have to worry as much on your next shoot. Weather isn’t so much a problem with Ultra 7 as it can handle temperatures as low as 0ºC and as high as 40ºC.
4K Workflow in the palm of your hand.
Since HD was the dominant technology at the time we designed the 703 Ultrabright, it makes sense that we made a monitor to transmit that signal through its 3G-SDI input. But with the industry shifting into 4K, we wanted to make sure that we could offer a 7-inch monitor that does not break your 4K workflow. With the 6G-SDI ingest on the Ultra 7, you can loop out a 4K feed and not lose the resolution– whether it be to another monitor or to an external Teradek Bolt 6.
As monitoring in 4K becomes the norm on set, the Ultra 7 will be essential to completing that monitoring experience without the loss of quality.
Teradek Bolt 6 Integration.
A SmallHD monitor with Bolt integration is nothing new. This winning combination has been a part of our engineering landscape since the 703 Bolt. What sets the Ultra 7 integration apart from its predecessors is the internal antenna design and a fully-contained Teradek Bolt 6, making it more compact and less likely to experience damage. This integration is useful on set because it utilizes the clear airwaves of the newly-open 6GHz spectrum, with RX and TX models that are compatible with any Teradek Bolt 6 and backward-compatible with any Bolt 4K system in 5GHz mode.
The Ultra 7 with Bolt 6 integrations will follow the release of the flagship monitor in early 2024.

Experience All the Control.
Unfortunately, our 703 Ultrabright users were not able to experience Camera Control, but that is not the case with Ultra 7. Ultra 7 is capable of Camera Control with RED®, Sony as well as ARRI. Camera Control allows you to view and adjust crucial camera-control functions and PageOS tools at the same time on Ultra 7, with a camera-control interface anchored to every page.

Along with this monitor, our team designed a new sunhood, and in most cases, this is no big deal. A sunhood is a sunhood, right? Wrong. The sunhood designed for Ultra 7 is a folding, magnetic design that installs in seconds without the need for tools. The durable material is not subject to any bending or tearing, and the folding capability protects the screen when the sunhood is closed or stored. Designed to attach with quick-release magnetic latches, it connects, expands, and collapses in seconds. This sun-stoppable hood protects your view and your screen, all with a few clicks.

Ultra 7 is compatible with Wooden Camera’s Micro Battery Plates. These battery plates are a large improvement over the legacy plastic plates because they have a resettable 5.8A digital E-Fuse, whereas, on the plastic plates, you would have to open the plate up to replace the fuse. Additionally, the Micro Battery Plates are made of anodized aluminum, making them more sturdy and durable.
